Your real estate website should make you money.
If your real estate website isn't making you money, what's the point? A good website can produce a regular, ongoing source of leads - day in, and day out - busy months and slow months. It's the great equalizer!
In order to have a successful real estate website, you must buy into several concepts:
Your site must be original, and rich and deep in content
- It must offer customers the information they are seeking, not the information you want them to have. There is a big difference.
- You must keep your site relevant. The search engines like relevant, updated, 'fresh' sites. Your site will rank higher if it's kept up to date.
- All of your marketing efforts, offline and online, must ultimately direct customers to your website.
- Your website is one half of the equation for success. You must have a marketing plan designed to drive traffic to your site. A good marketing plan and a lousy website will produce more business than a great website and no marketing plan. Marketing is a key component to your success. Having both a great site and a great marketing plan is a surefire plan for success.
- You need to understand the difference between the real estate customer of "pre-internet" days, and the customer of today. It's a different customer, they are working on a different time frame, and they need to be treated differently. If you attempt to take old fashioned real estate marketing techniques, and apply them to the internet - you will fail.
